Arbetsmarknadsutbildning

Employment training strengthens your skills and makes it easier to find work. The training leads to an occupation with good prospects for the future.

Find a labour market training course

There are labour market training courses that lead to a wide range of professions. Here you can read about the labour market training courses currently available and also see what study visits you can sign up for.

Find a study visit

During a study visit you can find out whether a training programme and an occupation is right for you. Register by e-mailing the contact person for the training programme(s) you are interested in. The education provider will then get back to you with a confirmation.

What

Employment training is a short, vocationally oriented training programme for occupations where there is a lack of trained staff. All employment training programmes and the occupations they lead to are for everyone, regardless of gender. Taking a course does not guarantee that you a job but will increase your chances considerably. The programme normally lasts between a few weeks and six months, and in some cases may even be longer. The training is full time.

For whom

There are several factors which determine whether or not you can take a labour market training course. We will consider your previous training/education and experience as well as your job prospects and what needs currently exist on the labour market. You will need to be registered as a job seeker with us. You will also need to meet one of the following criteria:

  • You are 25 or older
  • You are under 25 and have a disability which affects your capacity to work
  • You are 18 or over and have circumstances which make it more difficult for you to enter the labour market

Using the above criteria, it is the Swedish Public Employment Service which assess your case and decides whether or not a labour market training course would be right for you. In addition to these criteria, there are also other eligibility considerations which can vary over time.

How it works

The training programmes are organised by education providers around the country on our behalf. You can use our digital service "Find Employment Training" to search for different programmes and our digital service "Find Study Visits" to find and sign up for study visits. You may well find a programme that is right for you.

Compensation for travel expenses

When participating in a programme at another location, you can apply for a subsidy for travel and accommodation costs.
