How we assess your suitability for Prepare and match

The employment officer carries out a comprehensive assessment based on all the information we have about you to determine which support is best suited to you. One component of the assessment of your suitability for Prepare and match (Rusta och matcha) is a recommendation from what the Swedish Public Employment Service refers to as the statistical assessment tool.

The outcome of the statistical assessment support

  • you are assessed as being too close to the labour market for Prepare and match
  • you are assessed as suitable for Prepare and match. The result also includes the level of support from the service provider
  • you are assessed as needing in-depth support, which the Employment Service will investigate further.

Using the statistical assessment tool involves the automatic processing of data that the Swedish Public Employment Service holds about you in our systems. This processing is known as profiling and, in legal terms, involves the automatic processing of personal data carried out to assess your prospects for employment, based on how others with similar characteristics have fared.

How we process your personal data

We use the following data in the statistical assessment tool:

  • unemployment insurance fund membership
  • availability for work (the time the jobseeker has stated they are available to work)
  • experience in the occupational groups applied for
  • country of birth (information from the Swedish Migration Agency)
  • registration date
  • inter-regional applicant
  • code for a disability resulting in reduced working capacity
  • municipality of residence
  • gender
  • applicant category
  • occupational groups applied for (up to 4)
  • time of year of registration
  • education for occupational groups applied for
  • field of study
  • level of education
  • age

More information

All personal data processing must have a legal basis in the rules concerning processing of personal data. The Public Employment Service conducts the profiling with support on the legal bases “public interests” and “exercise of official authority”. The purpose for the processing of personal data is the administration of cases.

In a legal sense, profiling refers to automatic processing of personal data used to assess certain personal qualities of a natural person, in particular in order to analyse or predict, for example, financial situation, preferences, interests, behaviour or place of residence.
