Occupational introduction for people with visual impairment

If you have a visual impairment, a modification to suit your needs and conditions may be a path into the labour market.

What is occupational introduction for people with visual impairment?

The occupational introduction for people with visual impairment programme helps improve your opportunities to find work. The content of the programme makes it possible for you to

  • get employment in your occupational and geographical search area
  • start education or training, such as municipal adult education, training at a vocational college or one of Arbetsförmedlingen’s procured occupationally oriented training courses
  • start a business as a self-employed person.

The programme consists of four parts. In the first part, you receive information about the programme content and how it can be tailored to suit your needs. The second part is optional and offers an orientation to Swedish working life and work culture for people born abroad. The third part is about finding a suitable professional focus. If you are assessed as able to study or work, you will move on to the fourth part, in which you obtain practical working life experience and we figure out what you need before finding a job or studying.
