Before the planning meeting
When you have signed up with us, the next step is to plan what you need to do in order to find a job or begin to study as soon as possible. The first meeting with us is a planning meeting, at which we will make an action plan together. It is important to prepare in order for the meeting to go well. This conversation is usually held via phone, or on-site at the Public Employment Service (Arbetsförmedlingen).
What happens at the planning meeting?
At the meeting, you and the employment officer will go through, among other things:
- your skills
- what jobs you are looking for
- what support you can receive from us
- what you can do yourself to achieve your goals.
We will also discuss whether you need additional support and help with searching for a job and working. For example, this may be the case if you have a disability, a particular diagnosis, or a health problem. In that case, we will assess what kind of support you need in order to work.

Reschedule the planning meeting
If you cannot attend the meeting, for example due to a job interview or work, you must reschedule the time for your first planning meeting. Log in to My pages to reschedule and choose a new time. If you are sick or caring for a sick child, you cannot reschedule the meeting yourself. Instead, you must call us to notify us of the issue and receive a new time. You must also call to cancel the meeting.

We create an action plan for your job search
At the planning meeting, you and the employment officer discuss what you need to do to get a job or to begin to study as soon as possible. We discuss the labour market for the jobs you are looking for, what support you need, and what activities you should complete. The employment officer writes down what you come up with together, creating an action plan that you can find on My pages (Mina sidor).
The Public Employment Service is responsible for ensuring that your action plan is current. It must be renewed when necessary, or at least every six months. That might be when one activity concludes and another begins, or if your need for support has changed.
If you will receive support from one of our suppliers in the future, we will share the action plan with them.
When you do not need a planning meeting
If you are certain upon registration that you will have a job or begin studying within three months, you do not have to have a planning meeting. In that case, you will only use our digital services and receive an action plan that is automatically created based on the information you submitted when registering. You will find it on My pages.

How to prepare for the meeting
Think about what work you want to do and update your CV. What jobs would you consider applying for directly? Do you need to supplement your education or experience? Think through your goals and how your route to a job might look. Write down your thoughts on the next step. Also think through and write down any questions you might have for us.

Translate your certificates and have them assessed
If you were educated abroad, you may need to translate your certificates and have your qualifications assessed to be able to apply for jobs or education and training in Sweden.
Contact us and, if needed, we can help you to get your documents translated. This applies if your educational documents were issued in a language other than English, French, Spanish, German or one of the Nordic languages.

Apply for unemployment benefit
If you have questions about unemployment benefit, your membership or anything else, contact your unemployment benefit office directly. Unemployment benefit is money that you can receive when you are unemployed, a member of an unemployment benefit insurance fund and registered with us. Have you included all your information?
You can look through the information that you included when you registered. Make sure you have included all the education and training you have taken, previous jobs you have had and if there are any particular skills you wish to highlight. Our meeting will be more effective if you log in and update your information beforehand.
