Before the planning discussion
Once you have enrolled with us, the next step will be to plan to find a job or study quickly. The first meeting with us is a planning discussion lasting a maximum of 30 minutes. For the meeting to work effectively, it is especially important that you prepare carefully. Here are some tips for how to plan for your meeting with the aid of our website.
What happens at the planning discussion?
At the meeting, you and an employment officer look at the following, among other things:
- your skills
- what jobs you are looking for
- what support you can get from us
- what to do to achieve your goals.
You and the employment officer agree on what activities will suit you best. This may for example be to take part in a webinar, write a CV or study Swedish. Then it is your own responsibility to keep your plan alive and take your own initiatives to reach your goals. If at the time of enrolment you have chosen to de-register within three months, you do not need a planning discussion.
Start planning now and update your CV
Think about what work you want to do and update your CV. What jobs would you consider applying for directly? Do you need to supplement your education or experience? Think through your goals and how your route to a job might look. Write down your thoughts on the next step. Also think through and write down any questions you might have for us.
Here are some tips:
Apply for unemployment benefit
If you have questions about unemployment benefit, your membership or anything else, contact your unemployment benefit office directly. Unemployment benefit is money that you can receive when you are unemployed, a member of an unemployment benefit insurance fund and registered with us. Check whether you are a member of an unemployment benefit insurance fund. Here you can read about what the conditions are and how to apply for benefit.
If you are not a member of an unemployment benefit insurance fund, it might be a good idea to apply for membership. You can find more information about which unemployment benefit insurance fund suits you best on the Hej a-kassa and Sveriges a-kassor websites.
Have you included all your information?
Review the information you entered when you registered with us. Have you included everything or have you perhaps forgotten a course, a previous job or a skill that you want to emphasise? Add the information before your meeting with us so that our meeting is more effective.
Keep track of your plan on your personal pages
You will find your plan on your personal pages when you are logged in with your electronic identification. You can see an overview of your activities – both those that you have completed and those that you are to do next. Your personal pages are a support for you in your job seeking, so it's important that you keep your planning up to date.
If you do not have electronic identification
If you do not have your own computer or smartphone, you can visit a service office and borrow a computer.
If you do not have electronic identification, you can have your plan printed out or sent home by an employment officer.
