Teletal – helping you understand and remember
Teletal is a service that provides support during telephone calls. It is designed for anyone who needs help hearing what is being said, understanding words and the content of a conversation, or remembering the conversation afterwards. The service is only available in Swedish.
You speak to the person you are calling, and an interpreter is on hand to assist if needed. For example, the interpreter can clarify unclear speech and difficult words, provide support to help the conversation go on smoothly, help with memory aids during the call, and send brief notes afterwards.
Teletal is available during Arbetsförmedlingen’s opening hours and is free of charge. The interpreters are bound by professional secrecy.
Call 020-22 11 44 for support via the Teletal service.
Bildtelefoni – for those who use sign language
Bildtelefoni is a video relay service that makes it possible for people who use Swedish sign language and people who use spoken Swedish to call one another.
The service can also be used for remote interpreting, for example when two or more people are in the same place and need an interpreter for an impromptu conversation.
Bildtelefoni is available during Arbetsförmedlingen’s opening hours and is free of charge. The interpreters are bound by professional secrecy.
Please contact tolk@tolk.sip.nu for assistance with video calls.
You can use the service via an app. Access the app via the Bildtelefoni website or via Google Play and the App Store.
Texttelefoni – for those who have impaired hearing or speech difficulties
Texttelefoni is a text telephone service that enables communication via text and speech in Swedish and English.
If you use text-based communication, you write via an app or text telephone. The person you are contacting uses a mobile phone or a landline. An interpreter reads out what is being written and writes down what is being said, word for word and in real time.
This service is suitable for people with hearing impairments and those with speech difficulties.
Texttelefoni is available during Arbetsförmedlingen’s opening hours and is free of charge. The interpreters are bound by professional secrecy.
