Criteria for registration

To be registered with the Office for Culture and Media, you must meet certain criteria for specific professions. The criteria have been developed together with industry and interest organisations in the cultural and media field, to counteract over-establishment in an already highly competitive industry. As the industries develop, the criteria are adjusted in consultation with the trade associations.

To meet the criteria, you must, during the last three years:

  • have completed a higher education in your professional field, or
  • have worked mainly in the professional field

Please note that there are special criteria for professional artists and writers.

Self-employed

If you mainly have been self-employed within your profession, there are special documents that we accept. For example, you can upload a Population Registration Certificate from the Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket), a Certificate of Registration from the Swedish Companies Registration Office (Bolagsverket) and the form "Sammanställning inkomstuppgifter” (Compilation of income information) from the Swedish Tax Agency. It is important that the documents state what you have worked with, and that it has been your main occupation and source of income.

If you need to have your qualifications assessed

You need to be registered with us as a jobseeker to have your qualifications assessed. Contact us if you are interested in this.

If you do not fulfil our criteria

If you do not fulfil the criteria for registration in the industry sector employment service, you can of course still get help. Register as usual and fill in details about, for example, your education, previous jobs, skills and what kind of job you are looking for.
