Mapping your conditions for work

If needed, we will schedule an extra meeting with you to take a closer look at what kind of work you can do, and whether anything is affecting your opportunities to find and keep a job. This could include your health, or if you have a disability. We will also look at what support you may need from us.

The meeting will be about

Your action plan may need to be modified if you or we think that something is affecting your conditions for working or studying. For example, this may be the case if you have an illness or disability.

The purpose of the calls is to determine:

  • what jobs or studies might suit you
  • what support you may need from us in order to get and keep a job.

What happens at the meeting

You will be invited to a meeting with one or more of our employees who have particular expertise in order to carry out the mapping process together. The invitation will be sent via post or to your digital mailbox. It will include more information about the meeting. The meeting may be held via telephone, video, or in one of our offices.

At the meeting, we will determine your particular strengths and what kind of work you can do, as well as whether you experience any limitations or challenges related to work or a work environment. Based on that information, we will make a plan together for how you will get a job.

You will talk to one of our employees with special expertise in various areas. That might be an employment officer, psychologist, occupational or physical therapist, audiologist, deaf services consultant, or vision specialist. You will talk to the person best suited to your particular needs.

You will get a new action plan

The new action plan will help to bring you closer to a job or studies that work for you in the long term. The action plan describes what jobs you will apply to and takes into consideration whether you have any limitations or challenges.

Following your action plan

It is important that you continue to follow the action plan that was developed during your planning meeting. That plan applies until we draw up a new action plan.

If you do not follow the action plan, it could impact compensation that you may have, for example from the Swedish Social Insurance Agency (Försäkringskassan) or unemployment insurance fund (a-kassa).

How it works – step by step

1. Mapping becomes relevant

You can do so when you sign up, during your planning meeting, or at any point in contact with us.

2. Prepare for the meeting

While waiting, you can start to reflect on some questions that we will discuss during the meeting.

You will receive help and guidance related to these questions during your meeting with us.

  • What are you good at?
    Think about your strenghts.
  • What skills and experience might be useful for a job?
  • What works well for you?
For example, activities, leisure interests, or things you do day to day. Also consider what does not work well.
  • What kind of work are you interested in and woul like to look for?
  • Are you ready to look for a job, contact employers, or start working?
If you do not feel ready now, what would you need to feel ready?
  • Have you experienced any challenges in previous workplaces or at school?
If so, have you found solutions to those challenges?

3. We carry out the mapping process

Together, we will determine more about what jobs or studies could suit you and what support you might need from us.

4. You will get a new action plan

This new action plan is based on your conditions. The goal for us is to determine together what you can work with or what studies may suit you. We have also assessed what support you need from us.

5. You start the next steps

The next steps will vary depending on what we have determined. They could involve finding a job on your own, studying, or carrying out activities that bring you closer to a job or studies.
