Arbetsförmedlingen’s code of statutes

Arbetsförmedlingen’s code of statutes contains current regulations and general guidelines for Arbetsförmedlingen. The code also includes applicable regulations and general guidelines from the former Arbetsmarknadsstyrelsen, the activities of which were transferred to Arbetsförmedlingen on 1 January 2008.

As of 1 June 2020, Arbetsförmedlingen only publishes basic regulations, i.e. as soon as a regulation must be amended, the entire regulation, including amendments, is published as a new regulation with a new designation and the old regulation is repealed.

There are printed and digital versions of all regulations. Note that it is the printed version that applies if the digital and the printed version differ in any way.

About Arbetsförmedlingen’s regulations and general guidelines

The Riksdag and the Government have given Arbetsförmedlingen the right to decide on regulations and general guidelines within Arbetsförmedlingen’s field of activity. In order for Arbetsförmedlingen to publish regulations it must be given this power through the ordinance.

Regulations and general guidelines are a complement to and provide more specific detail of the Riksdag’s acts and the Government’s ordinances. A regulation is a binding rule that has to be complied with by the government agency’s staff, other government agencies and people in the community. General guidelines are not binding but they are recommendations for how we can or should comply with the requirements in acts and ordinances.
